Procrastination — Yes, I struggle too

It’s my fourth day of daily writing and I’m already struggling when to find the perfect time to write? I find it kind of difficult to distinguish between procrastination and perfection. I would introduce myself as a perfectionist, but otherwise I would admit that I like to take it easy, procrastinate and then feel stressed because I must finish something in the last minute. So in the end I’m always thinking about that I have to do it, but I don’t.

However, I did various routines and tried to follow them for different long periods. But there always showed up this moment when I struggled, not inspired anymore, or it felt incredibly stressful to follow the routine.

You know the process; you tell yourself I will do it the next day, the next Monday, the next month and it ends up never. So, you feel guilty because you could not achieve your goal.

So yeah, this happens to me too. I do not set New Year’s resolutions, because I never stuck to them. But for this year I want to develop habits. Obviously, one of them is writing.

For today’s blog post, my intention was to write about a book. As I imagined, there are tons of reviews of James Clears book “Atomic Habits”. Really fast, I get away with this idea. 😉

I totally agree that this book is a must read and subscribe to his newsletter. I am looking forward to every email from him. I have to warn you, with only reading the book and the newsletter it’s not done. I’m still learning. Today’s newsletter reminded me again that if I want to be a writer, I have to behave like a writer and do the stuff every single day.

Admittedly, my system isn’t perfect yet with my late night posts. The first thing will be to grab the book again, write out the take outs and set up a system that is possible to follow.

Just show up, start, find out what works for you and go!
